Lately I dont even know whether I'm busy or lazy when it comes to blogging. Well anyway, here's the story.
Last Monday, I was on my way to Hospital Kuala Lumpur to visit one of my customers. While I was within the hospital, an old Chinese man stopped me. At that time, I thought he wanted to ask for directions. So I stopped to listen, but he asked for something else.
After going thru a series of unrelated topics, he finally said "I'm hungry, can you buy food for me?" At that time, I felt a little impatient after finding out what he really wanted. I ignored him and left for my work. All the while, I don't believe in helping people through the use of money. I rather help through my actions. There's too many conman out there and that old man's outfit looks pretty decent for a poor guy, why should I believe him?
When I went home and brought this topic up, my parents actually prefered me to buy food for him. According to them, hospital food is cheap that's why I should buy him something to eat. Next time if I encounter this situation again, I might consider buying food for him if I have time to spare or else that's just too bad. =P

ya,, i think i wil buy him food
yes, i also don't believe in giving money.
i think i blogged about it once, a boy who knocked on my car window and i gave him some money, which afterwards, i felt conned?
i also bought food for a man once, when he asked for money, i had a feeling he would buy liquor if i gave him money, so, i told him, i will pay for his food instead.
Jamie....You have to go on your feelings but the best thing to do is buy food if they truly are asking for help and to give them money is not the way to go as for frog prince is right some would just spend the money on liquor. It is a hard question to answer but your parents are right if you have the time then take that person and buy them food!
Some poor people are too proud to look like a bum on the street, So good luck with your next encounter with life things like that stick in ones mind a long time!
I'll give him some money for food. I have a weak heart for old people probably due to watching too many Kisah Benar (True Stories) and Hindi/Tamil movies.
Compare to the old people, I have much more going on for me than them. Also I can't imagine what they have gone through until they need to ask money for food, whether it's to con people or they're really hungry, there much be an explanation or a situation that lead to such begging.
Imagine if it's my father T_T connin ppl money for food.. that's so sad to see. Or my mom who had to eat patient's leftover food in the hospital because she couldn't afford any meals at one point of time.
T_____T wuwuw...
